Persu Mobility, Inc nee Venture Vehicles.

New company name for the start up company formerly known as Venture Vehicles.

Introducing ,,, drumroll, please ... the ... Persu Hybrid:burning:rubber:

I tried to google the etymology for Persu and came up with zilch.

Looks like the new name? unless it's a front for tomorrow??

randi

it's pretty official ... all references on the main site to the old names have been replaced; there's a new logo as well -- a "P" inside a circle.

let's see if they post pics of the final exterior and interior designs.

Very nice catch randi !!
I see they changed the name on the FAQ pages also. I didn't see anything else new.

randi

the image of the cockpit now displays the circled "P" on the steering wheel ...

i hereby dub this ULV ... the "circle P".

"Pursu" sounds like a not-too-distant cousin to "Prius".

I think I could have come up with a better name, but I'm sure there were lawyers and committees involved. Still, it's not an entirely stupid name and I'm sure I'll adjust to it quiet well.

Why'd they change the company color, though? That seems somewhat arbitrary.

rogwild
12-08-2008, 12:53 AM
I guess that they tried to find something 'unique' that wouldn't cause conflict with present/past Company Names or Vehicles.

Sort of a play on "PERSUE" =
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pursuing

transitive verb
1: to follow in order to overtake, capture, kill, or defeat
2: to find or employ measures to obtain or accomplish : seek <pursue a goal>
3: to proceed along <pursues a northern course>
4 a: to engage in <pursue a hobby> b: to follow up or proceed with <pursue an argument>
5: to continue to afflict : haunt <was pursued by horrible memories>
6: 2chase 1c <pursued by dozens of fans>

Probably appropriate for a 'start-up' auto/motorcycle ("Mobility") company; although it would also be great for a firm making motorized wheelchairs or 'Segways'. It works since they are 1: 'going after' the big car makers, and may one day catch them (if the Big 3 are still there).
2: They are trying to 'find' a way to make the concept (Dream) work and be profitable.
3:4: They are 'preceding' along, although at a slower pace than expected, and hopefully will 'follow up'.

Lets all hope that they;
6: Win the 'chase' and have thousands of following fans.=y:
and not;
5: Turn out to be an 'affliction', as in a haunting nightmare! :(

Blue is the new Green Color.

I will think of the Persu Hybrid as the PersuitOne.

Your Spanish is better than mine, Danbucks! :)

I only vaguely deciphered "barandillas"; ah, but had I browsed as far as "elementos de jardin," it would have been a dead giveaway.

"Barandillas" has to do with fence--from what I understand.

I forgot to mention. That name (in English)'s #1 problem is:
it will be mispelled [sic]. All the time. Some trying persue..., etc.
Someone please tell Ian: register the misspellings (or should I say proper spellings)too. They aren't yet, and it costs next to nothing.

I'm excited to see this new change. But does anyone know when they plan on showing any working concepts or a display model of what the inside and outside look like in real life, not just a drawing or computer model.

I know this stuff takes time, but I thought they mentioned doing alpha mule tests last July and beta mules shorty after. Did anyone hear the results of these?

'Borski88'; They did make a serial hybrid 'sandrail mule' last winter and were scheduled to have the serial hybrid Alpha Prototype running by April (then July) of this year.........but apparently developed some PROBLEM, and switched to a NEW PARALLEL HYBRID system and have had to 'start over' this summer. NO real Progress update yet (other than they are 'working' on the interior design and the exterior skin panels). At least that is my reading of the limited communications so far.

Borski88,
unfortunately very little is known... there was a video of a running powerpod, and photos of body molds with completed panels, also window molds. Earlier there were photos of a welded tube frame for the main passenger pod.

Speculation from these known fact is very broad...everything from the Alpha was completed and test run resulting in the Beta design.... to, they never even married the pieces together.

Actual facts of where Persu Mobility is in the development now have not been revealed. Very little information has been released since Ngen took over.

Welcome to the mushroom patch

http://origin.ih.constantcontact.com/fs017/1102346340412/img/6.jpg?a=1102359549680The past couple of months have been dynamic and busy times. We are working to launch a new company and develop a new and innovative vehicle concept all at the same time. We intend for the results to be a new generation of automotive company unencumbered by past traditions and totally dedicated to ushering in a new era of mobility with a fresh new transportation solution.

As we continue to organize and work to secure the future of our company in these difficult times, and evolve our vehicle concept, we also know we are defining a new class of vehicle for the urbanation of America. This is a vehicle with standout design and scintillating performance that is equally at home in the carpool lane as it is carving through your favorite country road. It's as appropriate parked in front of a restaurant as it is in front of your home. It is a class of vehicle that literally doesn't exist today and we have coined a new term for it, the Urban Life Vehicle (ULV).

With this backdrop, here's some news we'd like to share with you today. We are changing the name of our company from Venture Vehicles to PERSU MOBILITY. Our vehicle will become the PERSU HYBRID. We're doing this because some other corporations have used derivations of the Venture name, and in order to maintain a clear and unchallenged position, we decided that now is the right time to introduce a new corporate name and vehicle identity.
We would like to thank you again for your interest and invite you to visit www.persumobility.com (http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001rkkAqLK3brIc2tvlWSo2XXqu0xh2yCFV3PP0Xm FDfoovw5VhgfF9d5Uguhmwoh9byokFFI-LvNANSg3TxMae8knQQBOTbdHBK6KX3k2nGtAM6oh7aLZDhw==) to get the latest information on our drive to develop a bold new path to future mobility.

Not special! Just been around for a very long while, I guess--looks like the announcement went to the very early preregistrants (just my guess).

As goes with VV, it's pretty much par for the course--can't imagine why they don't administrate the site properly once and for all. They've really been taxing their fans' support and goodwill.

Wow, I leave town for a few days, and the whole world changes! Left Saturday to drive to Orlando, Florida from Chicago, and just got back. Boy, the weather is soooo much better down there!

Anyway, I'm glad to see the new name and logo, and hope they have many more surprises for everybody in the near future.

By the way, I sent Scot an email pertaining to the company/club contract, but have yet to hear back from him. It might just be that Persu Mobility (I hope they don't add an S to that!) may not have liked the revisions in the contract that I requested. After all is said and done, I'm not too sure we will be given that "official" contract. I just could not sign it as it was written. I hope everybody understands. At any rate, I'll contact Scot in the morning, and find out what the status is.

I haven't been home much this last week. So I haven't even checked my email! I had to build a float for our festival of lights parade and then I had to go out of town for training. I got back late last night and went straight to bed after checking the updated site. This morning I woke up and drove to Safford and then went home visited with a friend took a nap and came to work! I will have to check my email in the morning! Thanks for keeping us updated Randi!!!

On a side note I do kind of think they should drop the word "mobility" or change it to "automotive". To me "Mobility" reminds me of those chairs for disabled people! Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Amen to that, AZE! We can always give it our own name once we have it in our driveway. I personally don't like the name "Spyder" for the CanAm vehicle, but that doesn't matter. I still kind of like the thing. This vehicle will be "out of the box" no matter what it is called, and I want one asap!

Unfortunately, I agree 100% with you. I don't mind the "Persu" name too much, but adding "Mobility" after it just does not project a good image. Maybe they will be using the name Persu Motors in the future. I hope so anyway.

ppi- it is known as the BMW Clever. Just google BMW Clever and you can get a ton of info on it. As far as I know it was designed for inner city driving and top speed of 45 mph. Also, If I am not mistaken it is only a concept with no further announcment of going forward to production with it!

The "Clever", was a University of Bath transportation study project sponsored by the EU. BMW was only one of many corporate contributors and BMW is often wrongly associated with the sole developer of the project. Problem is the EU can't find anyone to further develop, build and sell the Clever. http://www.clever-project.net/ (http://www.clever-project.net/)

I don't quite get what you are trying to imply by your post Rog. And I did not get the same results that you obtained from Yahoo or for that matter from other search engines... but that could be all in how I use them. { Since they directed me to the FlytheRoad site and various other articles on the Persu Hybrid.} And even so is this like reading tea leaves?

Yes, I will agree that I would not have chosen Mobility to be part of the Company name or product name for this type of vehicle but then again I wouldn't avoid purchasing one because of it (when it becomes available). Even if they used a word that loosely translated into English - was totally derogative - would it prevent me from purchasing the vehicle? ...No(though I would probably wipe out what ever the word was from the coach work after purchase.)

I have to admit, I just did a google search for "Persu Mobility" and it came back with a link to the flytheroad site, and then a bunch of articles about Persu Mobility. And the 7th item down in the search engine was THIS CLUB!

I actually have grown to like the Persu name....although the "mobility" part still sticks in my craw! But, as others have mentioned, they have also registered the domain PERSUMOTORS.COM, so maybe there is still hope. I actually like the name of the vehicle....Persu Hybrid. But, as AZE, stated, this vehicle BY ANY NAME would still be something I want in my driveway when it come out.

That is really strange, I just tried both Yahoo and Google and got pointed to the Flytheroad site AND articles about Venture Vehicles changing their name. In my earlier post, that was a direct 'Cut and Paste' from the results that I got when I typed "Persu Mobility" into one of those [Search] blocks on one of the utility banners across the top of my screen. It even had the Yahoo "Y" as the search engine. I was just going to 'check the web' for any new news on PM.

Well my point was (no longer valid), that Persu Mobility is not readily recognized as an AUTO/MOTORCYCLE maker, and sounds more like someone making vehicles for the physically handicapped. Seems my ancient computer or old software (or perhaps gremlins) helped put my foot in my mouth again. Sorry!no:wor:thy1

Just keep the Gremlin's out of your vehicle and you will be OK. Speaking of Gremlin's I used to have one ... I called it my racing sneaker as it had a small-block V8 crammed into it and was a very capable racer after some miner modifications.

Ah, yes. The early (young) days of building 'ninja' cars. Mine was a '68 (I believe) CorV8 - a late model Corvair with a Corvette LT1 365HP engine and close ratio 4-speed and quad spider non-slip differential. I had to wear an airforce 'G' suit during acceleration.

Where is Persu located anyway. The best I came up was "Los Angeles". I tried tracking down an address but couldn't come up with anything. Usually it's not this difficult to get an actual location, even when the company doesn't "publish" it.

Never mind. Found them under the older Venture Vehicles name in Century City about a block away from the Century City mall. Has to just be offices though. Their "shop" has to be somewhere else.

Hmmmm.....
