Hello! I wanted to let everybody know that I am seriously looking at ways to make a reall cool presentation of a "VIRTUAL FLIGHT" page. I am looking at a software called Adobe Presenter. This may have the ability to create such a presentation, along with Flash.

If any of you have any ideas or suggestions about this, please let me know. Thanks.

Derwin, I came across your question about this on flytheroad.com and just discovered your web site and forum today. Good work! One thing you should look into is Google Earth - http://earth.google.com and Google Maps - http://maps.google.com. You can use either of these to generate points on the earth representing the location of future owners. With Google Maps you can display it directly on your web page but with Google Earth, it is an external application but had much cooler interaction with the ability to spin the virtual Earth and zoom in and out. This isn't really a presentation per se but I think a very effective way to show the locations of enthusiasts. I have some experience with these technologies, but my knowledge ends at the point where the features are actually implemented since I turn that over to my programmers, but there are probably some free tools out there to help people make this happen without PHP programming skills. On an unrelated note, you might want to look at http://www.hotscripts.com if you need various PHP scripts. If you ever have problems with vBulletin, you might want to check out http://www.phpbb.com, a very feature-rich, free, open-source BBS. I may lurk around these forums, but in case I don't make it back regularly, I'd be happy to offer tips via email - jheikeb@yahoo.com

Regards,
Jason

Back to the Virtual Flight idea, the Nov. "Popular Science" mag. pages 88-90 has a short 'blurb' on Google's free 3-D 'SketchUp' program (might be able to develop a realistic 3-D V-1 from a couple 2-D drawings) and then place it anywhere on the Globe with Google Earth. Might even be able to make the 3-D model travel from point A-to-B on the map. They have information/help forums on the program that may answer your questions to see if it would work for a 'Virtual Flight'.

rogwild,

Great lead! I will look into this. I think this would be a unique and fun thing to add to this site if we do it right. Thanks again.
