are windows an option? lol i've been reading up on this thing and im in love! so im hoping there will be windows to come down into the doors.... it would help with some claustropobia *sorry if i misspelled that* but if it has windows....that might be odd because of how small it is with bugs/dust and such.... any thoughts?
another idea is what about a nice sound system.....like an integrated 250-350 watt 10 inch woofer under the seats..... :D

The idea is that it will have electric windows and a removeable roof panel.

hey thanks a ton....im not sure i think i read the reason...but why isn't a small diesel being considered for the powerplant? if i read correctly it's because it'd be very hard to get it to pass cali emissions?

Ian mentioned a 'sliding' sunroof over the driver, that would slide back over/under the rear passenger position. Not sure (doubt if Vv is yet either) if it will be 'removable' also like the Carver One which provides a larger open overhead area.
Talk has been to have power windows for the driver (to save space from 'window cranks'):p, and little talk about rear passenger windows:(. Hope they at least have a 'vent' capability.;) A 'vent and/or remove' passenger window would be better yet.

'BionicOnion'; So far NO information has been released on what engine/type will be used for the final ICE to power the generator. Ian has said that he likes the idea of being capable of using flex-fuel, or perhaps bio-diesel, but we will have to wait to see what works best for performance, economy, price, availability, etc.

The Aptera also was going to be run by a small diesel generator initially. But they had to settle for a gasoline engine because they couldn't find a diesel that passed California's strict emissions laws. Perhaps you read that on their site. Regardless, I would assume VV will have the same issue.
AZ, if this thread continues to digress, suppose we should start a new thread out of it?

Well I for one am hoping they have the removable roof like the carver!
I would love to have a sunroof like the Hyundai Elantra. The back lifts up to act as a vent and drops down inside so the whole thing slides back to open completely. It is cable driven so it would be very easy to hide the mechanicals inside the roof frame.

Downside of the removable roof is nowhere to store it. Will not fit within the Carver. I have a roll up soft top on order ( didn't turn up with the car although all ordered 2 years ago) but for some reason they are not available at the moment.
If I could change the design slightly, I would go for more of the roof area being removable. Roof removed is a great benefit for passenger but the driver doesn't get so much benefit. Better ventilation would be good to although it is of course great with the windows down, just pretty stuffy in the rain.

I think a segmented roof with panels that slide under and into each other would be trick. Or what about a rag top slider like in the old 50's and 60's VW bugs?

Wouldn't a roof create eddies that increase its drag coefficient?

LOL, so would your head sticking out above the windshield. LOL
I personally would rather not have the roof removable, but rather a moon roof see through panel (No potential for leaks). I live in western Washington state. Sun roof's are equal to a cold shower once opened here. LOL
Im sure that we will see tons of highly modified persu's about 6 months after their release.

If I remember correctly they did mention something about a possible rag top sunroof design at one point.
Here is a design concept photo they showed us awhile ago!
