They sure picked an old picture of the Persu Hybrid for their article.

Well, who knows what the 'Current' Persu Hybrid looks like; since the most current information and sketches we've seen are from July/Aug 2008?
I wonder where they got this 'pearl of wisdom'?
They do recommend a spill-proof coffee cup, since the cupholder tilts, too.

Aaaaarrrgggghhhh! It's like they read my FAQ item about not needing a tilting cup-holder, but didn't understand a single word!

That is incredible. It puts the first half of the quote in question, too.
WHAT ABOUT MY STUFF Fold down the second seat and Persu says six bags of groceries can fit. They do recommend a spill-proof coffee cup, since the cupholder tilts, too.I was going to comment that I thought the fold down seat was new information - I don't recall reading it before. But then the cup holder thing (misspelled by the way; it's two words) made me wonder if they're just making it up.

One of the original discussions had Ian respond with the back seat folding down for added carrying capacity. I remember the grocery bag thing but not specifically six bags of groceries. But yea they totally blew it on the coffee cup holder... maybe they confused it with slamming on your brakes or rapid acceleration instead of tilting. :zapped1:

Ian had posted this on the FTR forums, February 07:
With the rear seat folded down, there's enough room for 6 standard bags of groceries. We're also planning to include a molded, wheeled "overnighter" which fits on the shelf behind the rear seat. An additional option will be a roof mounted module capable of carrying about 175 lbs (80 kg) of cargo. The roof rack will also be used for carrying skis, snowboards, or a pair of folding bikes.
The folding seat and storage of 6 bags of groceries is also in the flytheroad.com FAQ.
Also, since this is on the FAQ on flytheroad.com:
Will the Persu Hybrid have a special tilting cup holder?
The Persu Hybrid's tilt while turning is designed to match the lateral forces created by turning. From the perspective of an object within the cockpit, everything stays level all the time. However, speeding up and slowing down create a forwards/backwards acceleration, so a normal auto spill-proof cup is still a good idea.
I'm guessing that the writer of the article simply lifted the "spill-proof cup" part directly out of the faq, without putting in the facts about the tilting of the vehicle negating the lateral forces on whatever is in the cup (why confuse your readers with actual facts?)
Anyone watch "Finding Forrester"? Sean Connery's character says "Not exactly a soup question, is it?" anytime the main character asks a silly question. Sometimes I feel like I want to modify that quote to "Not exactly a cupholder question, is it?" on this forum. Seems pretty appropriate.
