Has anyone heard of, or real life experience with this engine type before ?
I'm curious for your thoughts on this one.

I've been following them for years, and frankly it's another brilliant idea that is falling short because they haven't got the business acumen to bring it to fruition. They are doing some things with air-powered commercial chain saws for the logging industry that could fund further development. But it's run by a nuclear scientist and his family who seem to think a good idea will sell itself.
I'm more interested in the Starrotor (http://www.starrotor.com/) engine because the developer has successfully brought many other ideas to market. But, there again, development on the engine appears to have stalled. This time, however, because he's too successful with air conditioners, compressors, expanders, alcohol fuels from bio-mass, sea water desalination, and so on.
