An opening bid of over $15,000? LOL! No way!
This vehicle is simply not worth that much money...no way in the world.
It only has a 250cc engine, and it really isn't anything you would be riding around town.
I think if the owner had the price closer to around $6,000 or $7,000, then that would be a bit closer to reality.
But that's just my opinion, of course.

Yea they had this posted over on Autobloggreen: (http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/05/08/ford-worker-builds-diy-125-mpg-aero-trike/)
The green-conscious tinkerers over at Ecomodder have a new hero today: user HyperRocket, who is apparently a Ford Motor Company fuel economy technical expert who wanted to really maximize fuel economy with a small vehicle. He started with a 250cc Kawasaki Ninja drivetrain and added a bullet-shaped enclosure, two seats and as much safety equipment as he could. The result is a road-legal, two-passenger, three-wheeled vehicle than can get up to 125 mpg when driving at 65 mph. The entire package weighs just 505 pounds and has a drag coefficient of just .16. Wow.
After putting 3,200 miles on the trike, HyperRocket wants to sell it. Why? So he can get to work on a plug-in hybrid version, of course. The trike is currently listed on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220408237744) for $15,600.
Of course without air conditioning this wouldn't have a chance at all in AZ unless you were using it as a cook pot. ;0

I would consider it if it had a 1200cc motor in it or bigger, preferably a 1600cc!
As for no air conditioning, it does say that it also came with a windshield that could be installed when the cockpit was removed.

I wouldn't drive that if they paid me $15 grand to mount up.

I should point out that the 250cc engine is from a Kawasaki Ninja, which means it'll rev up to 12,000 rpm or so. It's a tiny little beast, with much more output than you'd think a 250 could possibly generate.
Of course, the rest of the vehicle design isn't that impressive, so I'm not gonna be bidding....

That's not surprising to me.
He was just asking way to much for that thing. No matter how "goosed up" the engine is, it is still a 250cc, and not worth that much money. Besides....it was one ugly looking son of a gun! (in my opinion)
