I just received another email from this other company I keep in contact with. They are producing a "Fuel Vapor Car" that you may be aware of. Here is some information about it:

Car features:
92 miles per US gallon
0-60 in under 5 seconds
3-wheeled configuration
180 horsepower
12.9 second ¼ mile time
1.7 G’s cornering performance
“Super-low” emissions rating

This car kind of reminds me of a weird looking BatMobile! They just published the December 2007 update on their progress, and you can get it at www.fuelvaporcar.com (http://www.fuelvaporcar.com) It is in pdf format. It seems they will be in very good running for the coveted X-Prize of 2008. And, you can BUY company shares for ONLY .50 a share! Of course they have a minimum of a $10,000 investment. Very interesting, but I would MUCH rather invest in Venture Vehicles!

My question is.....Will this car really come to light? Or, will it simply be a "Vapor" that appears for a moment, and then is gone? (Good Grief!)

By the way, they advertise they are going for the X-Prize and are another three-wheel, tandem seating vehicle. Since their application was accepted, absolutely VV could enter the V1.

92 mpg, very impressive for an ICE!
If their statement, "FVT’s proprietary computerized “fuel vapor system” is a technology that surpasses the capability of current fuel injection or carburetion systems. It uses regular gasoline, and does not require a catalytic converter to meet global emissions standards. Fuel efficiency is increased 10% -20% while CO2 emissions are significantly decreased", is correct; how do they get a 120hp ICE to obtain 92mpg is their FVT ONLY gives a 10-20% increase in fuel efficiency? Even with very good aerodynamics a 1400lb vehicle would need a VERY efficient ICE to obtain these figures. I wonder which Honda (high efficiency engine) motor they are using, and why isn't Honda getting 77-84mph (92- 10-20%) with their own engines without FVT?
Also to qualify for the Auto X-prize, WHERE are they going to 'stuff' the second person?
A nice looking vehicle though, are they still talking around $50,000?

The FVT is a very cool car. I won't buy one, but very cool. rogwild makes some very interesting observations about the performance number though.

Bigest problem is that last I had read - They don't have a vehicle with the Fuel vapor system in it that works... The prototype does not have it. It is real vaporware at this point.

Well the [Homepage] of the site states:
"New car hits 92 mpg US."
If this was done with a 180hp, 1500cc Turbo charged Honda engine (without a working FVT), I REALLY wonder how they accomplished this? The FVT should increase this, but I wonder why a major vehicle maker like Honda cannot get HALF this economy from their OWN engine. Smells 'fishy' to me.
