I am new to the club and am very interested in the Carver One. However, their web site appears to be down and I cannot find any contact information for them such as a phone number.

I am interested in speaking with someon from the company about possibly becoming a distributor in the Philadelphia to New York corridor. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Berlinger & welcome,

Carver is currently in bankruptcy and we are not sure what it may look like if it survives. The Carver One can not be imported to the US as it's current engine is not US emmision approved. So with their current finacial difficulties, it is unlikely we will see a US version any time soon. If you check the Carver threads on this web site, their numbers are listed in a few places, but last we heard, no one is answering the phones.

Again wel;co;m;e101))

Thanks for the information. I am sorry to hear that. I remember that Carver had an engineering company that was under a seperate name, but do not remember it - do you?
The reason I am pressing is that in addition to possibly becoming a distributor, I was hoping to extend the Carver product to an all elrectic or even hybrid version. My company designs, manufactures and distributes battery-powered light material handling equipment. Applying our electric propulsion expertise and manufacturing know to this product could yeild a real winning combination.
Ideally, I would like to investigate licensing the steering technology and possible some of the esthetic designs. The best way for us to evaluate the project would be to buy one, and then remove the ICE (internal combustion engine) components, and replace them with our batteries, controllers and electronics.

Thanks for your help.

OK - thanks. I got them mixed up with another company we were looking at who has two different entities - a marketing company under one name, and a seperate engineering company under another name.

Thanks for the info.

What company were you talking about?

Maybe we can help you out.

It's a good idea, but you are a couple years late to that particular game. Persu Mobility (previously named Venture Vehicles) licensed the tilting technology (DVC) for use in the US for all hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles. This website started out as the fan site for the Persu, so we are rather familiar with that effort.

Things have been a little quiet from Persu lately, but I don't think they are ready to give up and let someone else take the license. As far as we know, they are still in development and possibly approaching production.

Good post! Sorry I missed this. And, yes....this guy is a bit "late" to the game! LOL!

I can assure you that they have not given up, and I know for a FACT that the Persu Hybrid is still in development. But, sorry to say, they are nowhere even remotely near production.

So, is this the Derwin on meds, or the Derwin off meds? I want to know which Derwin I want to come back. du:n:n:o(

Derwin,

No you don't deserve it. v:i:c:t;o;ry1) Based on the info, or lack there of, you had to go with your feelings, both positive and negative. 2thumb:up I reacted the same way. I'm not sure I can wait as long as others for a 3-4 year delay.:(

You have it all wrong....Derwin is always on meds. The question you should ask is "What meds is Derwin CURRENTLY on?"

So I guess the question here is; Is Persu's DVC U.S. marketing licence, an exclusive licence? Or, can Carver ENG. continue to negotate multipule marketing licences with-in the US?

Furthere, does their Licence limit production of the DVC system hardware to a sole source provider, controled by Carver ENG. or is Persu allowed to procure from a third party sources contrated to Persu??

Persu purchased EXCLUSIVE rights to the DVC technology for North America. This license is for a hybrid vehicle only, though. So, no, Carver cannot sell multiple licenses in North America.

But Carver can indeed bring their vehicle to the US and market it as is, and this is what they always planned on doing. That plan may have changed, though, since the bankruptcy, but I'm not sure.

Really sad news to hear about Carver :(

I did read somewhere that the cars are 'currently being built by a company in Germany' not sure if they're still going tho...

Is there details on the Carver bankruptcy anywhere. I've been hitting the news sites to find details thinking there would be something every few days or at least every week. Guess it's just not considered news worthy in Europe? If this was a U.S. company there would likely be constant updates. I don't see how Carver couldn't pull themselves out of this somehow.

There isn't much info but this has a quote from a carver employee:

I would expect the Carver to be built, perhaps under a different name in the near future once everything is sorted out. My stealth black one is for sale. An orange one was just supplied to a customer, possibly the last one before they went into liquidation for around £50,000 which is $82,000 at todays exchange rate. Mine is the same spec, fully loaded (although the stealth paint costs a bit more than the Magma Orange) and is just about to have the 2nd service, almost at 12,000 miles. $46,000 at todays exchange rate.

I was in California last week talking to a dealer about other vehicles and it is possible to personally import one and have it on the show licence or it was suggested to me that getting a dealers licence isn't that difficult and that would allow you to run a carver on the dealer tags (just don't do it all day every day!)

The fact that any car can fetch a premium in this climate is surely testament to the Carver One?

Stealth Black is my fave colour (correct spelling it the UK ;) ) - if only I had 50K to spare ;)
