Awhile ago, AZEqualizer started this thread on the FTR forum before we had conformation that they were going to definitely change the name. So I thought it would be fun to toss some ideas around here!! These are the suggestions we already came up with:
Venture EV - F117 Nighthawk
E50 - F-15 Eagle
Q100 - F22 Raptor
Venture EV - Nighthawk
E50 - Eagle
Q100 – Raptor
All models then add style - Volatilis (i.e. Volatilis Q100) latin word means to fly.
All models then add style – Sentient (i.e. Sentient Q100) synonym for responsive.

How about "VECTOR" = " A physical quantity having both magnitude (= strength or intensity) and direction. "
But it has already been used by:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_Supercars
Also a 'vector' in medicine is a disease carrier.
Oh well, just a thought (to eliminate).

yeah, I would have to say with it being used previously that the name vector would be a bust! However I like the way you think!

Well, if you must use my 'Dream Girl's' name:mad:, LEAN, better to use it all = "I LEAN":D (hopefully my Custom Florida license tag.)
I dream of --I LEAN--, not Jeanie.;)
Maybe other suggestions"

Using sort of a play on words, they say the experience of driving a V1 is like flying a fighter jet two feet off the ground. So I thought OK by definition the word tilt also means "to fight" so a synonym of tilt with this definition is Joust.
So I purpose the Venture Joust.

Does Florida allow for custom motorcycle plates? Yes. Here is the link: http://www3.hsmv.state.fl.us/Intranet/dmv/Forms/BTR/83043.pdf for the request.

Yeah, "I LEAN" fits the '6 space maximum' for motorcycles! Now V.V. just has to make it. I wonder If I can get the plates to take out to Calif. (maybe get the VIN from V.V. before I fly out). Humm, have to check with the DMV.
Now, my next submission for the new V-1 name.
How about, "VOLTAIR", NOT 'Voltaire'. Get it, Electricity 'flying' through the air? Perhaps with a lightning bolt type LOGO.

Hi,
Since everyone says it will fly.
Naming the V1 after a raptor would only seem to be right...
From kestal to eagle
Any Raptor would feel right
:D

Well, many raptor names would sound ok. But let's stay away from Vulture (technically it is a raptor). :-)
Electric vehicles are virtually silent, and if it flies the road, the most obvious raptor to me would be some sort of an owl, since they are renowned for their silent flight. Can't think of a cool owl name though.

"PUEO" Hawaiian owl....sacred amapua....spirit guide.
pronounced poo ay o.

Well I don't think it would be a good idea to name it something that is pronounced "Poo"! Just a thought! ;)

Cpaddock, no disrespect meant at all, but I think the V1 detractors would have too much fun mispronouncing Pueo.
Whatever names are picked, I like the idea of having a model number and name like some have suggested. For instance, the E50 Raptor.

Furthermore, upon doing a little more checking, turns out many cultures regard owls as a sign of death and misfortune. In case this thing got that popular. I'm guessing most of those places wouldn't be viable markets for it in the first place, though.
I like some of the bird of prey names, and some of the fighter jet types of names, but I also like some of the ones that work off of its thinness, such as Sliver or Razor.

How about Venture NV for New Vehicle (also for envy) you can add a model number after that.
Perhaps you could call it...
"The Knife"
"The Blade"
"The Spear"
...or some other sharp weapon name lol.

See I have a different mind set! I think for PR reasons they would want to avoid names of weapons for fear it would make people think of Death or being Killed! Of course that is just my two cents!
How about something quick and graceful in flight like say the sparrow! That may have been mentioned before I don't know I am still waking up. I worked third shift last night!

Hey Gang...what's the problem with "Venture 1 H" for the hybrid and "Venture 1 EV" for the all eclectric...some of the suggestions are right out of "Buck Rogers" and who needs that...just a thought...
I've always been good with Venture 1. How much wracking of the brain will it take to come up with another name? I'm more worried that they get the technical aspects of it right.

I agree. I've always liked the "Vulture One".
The slogan there could be "We'll pick the cold, dead carcass of your car when it dies from lack of gasoline on the road." ;)

While strolling through Sacramento the other day, I came upon something which should pretty much KILL the idea of using "Venture" in any form in the name of our beloved dream machine...

How about calling it the VentureOne - RoadRocket

Well, I don't think Ian and the team ever had in mind giving it the name of venture anyway. Since the name of the company is Venture Vehicles, the sound of the "Venture Vehicles Venture" just doesn't seem to have a good ring to it! :)

Ok - put some wheels on this picture of an American Indian stone tomahawk blade and what's it remind you of?
I'm voting for the Venture Tomahawk

Baja T, you NAILED it! I really dig the name. Unfortunately a quick google brings up
the Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle. It has a 500 hp v 10 viper engine, 4 close spaced
wheels and goes 0-60 in 2.6 sec. Named after the Tomahawk cruise missile. Damn! I thought we had it there for a second!

Ahh yes - but according to Wikipedia it is not street legal, key parts are left out, so it does not even run if you purchase it, and it is marketed by Dodge as a sculpture to show off the viper engine. Since they do not classify it as a vehicle I think we are in the clear.
At $550,000 each I highly doubt they sold any of their limited run of 10 sculptures.

OK, I'm back on board with this name! Again, one of mankind's eariest tools which also
often took flight! Baja T, that 'do somehow just looks right!
Forgive the song reference, but how about "Dreamweaver". It kinda gives the idea of surreal, high-tech, futuristic, weaving action.
=y:
I believe it can get me through the night...lol =D
