We often think of biofuels and electricity savings to help out the environment and one of the things we overlook is saving water.
In my college days I took a trip to the Biological Research Station in Bermuda. We stayed there for a month doing a Marine Biological Study and getting samples. While at the facility we were under a constant reminder of how precious fresh water was on the island. Since the only fresh water that was available was collected from rainfall everyone preserved water anyway they can. This included fast showers where you got wet, soaped up and rinsed - no water was flowing down on you during your shower.
I live in a desert now and though water is cheap in cost here, wasting it has a high price. I have always enjoyed showers with a great stream of water hitting your body. But with low water pressure areas or low water delivery systems it is difficult to get a enjoyable shower. I tried all kinds of shower systems ( no I didn't try the 'Jerry Seinfeld' Elephant shower head) and never got a good invigorating shower.
I stumbled upon a company out of Massachusetts the Water Management Company (www.takeashower.com (http://www.takeashower.com)). I researched their product and bought one of their hand held showerheads - And I finally found a low pressure shower head that works! If you want to save some water or have a low water pressure delivery system to your shower - and you still want a nice shower instead of one that drips out of the shower head - this is the system to buy.
(and it is not cheap plastic) It isn't inexpensive but I think it is well worth the price.
