OK, forgive me if this is a thread already started somewhere else. I have been thoroughly scanning the threads looking for anyone discussing this topic.
My question is: What happens to all the batteries that get used up and have to be disposed of? These are considered hazardous waist and must be handled as such and cannot be simply dumped in a landfill. That means specific dumping and storage facilities for these items. I am playing a bit of devil's advocate here as I am already hearing the tree huggers complaining of the harm to the environ caused by the disposal of these highly toxic batteries. Instead of emissions going in to the air, hard emissions are going into the ground or storage facilities, much like nuclear waste.
Any thoughts or information you guys can lend me in regards to this issue.
