I went out to start my pod today. Wouldn't fire, and notice smoke from the battery area. Shut down everything and opened the compartment to find that the small green wife coming off the negative side of the battery had melted. Also noticed that the ground side was off down by the motor. I thought maybe it was due to the ground not being hooked up. I put the ground on where I thought it went and taped up the green wire. Motor still won't start and wire smoked again.
Any suggestions??

Hello. I think you have the wrong forum, looperrun.
Try posting this over at the scooterpod forum, or at the new TrikeLovers.com forum. Although I don't think you'll get much help at TL because the forum is just starting. But people at the other forum should be able to help you.

I went there first. Can't find but three forums there. None are what you said.

Hmm. I don't understand. What did I say that is not correct? du:n:n:o(
You own a 150cc scooter, and the forum that ScooterPOD now owns is the place to go for information. If the members there don't help, then I really have no other suggestions.
Sounds like you had some kind of short in the wiring on your scooter, but I really have no idea. Others who own the same scooter should be able to help more.

Sounds like that little green wire was acting as your total ground, that's why it burned. You re-connected the main ground, but you need to replace that green wire, not just tape it up. Also look for any fuses or circuit breakers that may have tripped.

Sorry Derwin. I was thinking one thing and doing another. I was looking for a "Scooter Pod forum" Over at the trykes siter. Duh!!!!! Must be the old age kicking in!!! LOL
Thanks Mike. I will replace the wire and try again. Would that have kept the engine from starting even if it was turning over?

Maybe, it depends what that green wire is for.
