Concept "C" as depicted is pretty much what I have in mind. SWEET...

Hey! Look at the headrests in C. They're mesh! Not only are they cool looking, but they will be "cool' to rest on in the Summer. They also add to a feeling of openness, which should be welcome in such a small compartment.

If they keep following this line of thinking it's "C" for me although I would like to see the post next to the passengers head a little thiner. Keep the rear where it is and move the front of the post back so it's about half as thick.

Does anyone else see a protrusion just in front of the powerpod body, about the level of the wheel axle, on the C model? It looks like a step, or maybe an oversized kickstand.

Yes I have seen that in several pictures and figured it was either exhaust or more than likely part of the hydraulic system.

From looking at the carver I would guess this is part of the hydraulic system or rather tilt system.

Maybe apasionado could tell us what he thinks since he is a dealer?

AZE- you should of added a to close to call choice! I just Can't make up my mind! I have combed over both pics and I can very easily see myself behind the flight controls of either one!

I understand MM... but Ian can't do a too close to call design direction. The Team needs a starting point so they can refine it. Remember this isn't the final design but a 'Design Direction' so that it can be refined to the final product.

Now that C doesn't look so frumpy, I could be happy driving one. That said, the revisions make D sport version the one I WANT.

AZEqualizer, they are the double pistion tilt cylnders. You can see the details at: http://www.brinkdynamics.com/technical/dvc.html

I like the C concept draft. The crease bend from the front to the rear breaks the side just right vrs the wedge at the rear of concept D. The front fender I'd take to Orange County Choppers in Montgomery NY ("American Choppers" on Discovery Channel) hand it to Paul Jr and say " Make me a cool fender that blends with this concept"

I guess the only thing I really don’t like is the wings on the "D+". I’m expecting the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) work and the wind tunnel tests to kill or reduce the “D” wings. Call me a frump or a conservative, but I think the loss of the wings will appeal to a wider market segment. =y:

I like the "Wings", which is really nothing more than a ledge. I can't see it affecting the aerodynamics at all......not enough to get rid of them. After all, it's a key component in the "D" design and has been since it's inception. Not to mention, it would provide more valuable storage for small things......like a tool kit, emergency road kit, medical kit , golf balls....or what ever can fit. I hope they stay,.....just my opinion of course.

I see two different design candidates, but I am having trouble with what design directions each represents. I know the D is supposed to be more highly customizable, but aside from that, I don't follow as to how each represents a certain distinct design philosophy. Could someone please elaborate on this?

Personally, I'm leaning (no pun intended) toward the D sport version. All I had to do is see this picture...

http://www.flytheroad.com/1_4_07_post/Studio_2_Concept_D.jpg

That just takes my breath away. But I want to know, aside from aesthetics, what the differences are and how each design reflects those divergent philosophies.

I think we should be careful not to worry about interior matters at this stage, i.e., we shouldn't vote for one just because of the seats, which could easily be placed in either version.

I didn't like the C half as much, but the design of it is getting more refined and less cluttered (I always felt the D was a very sleek, clean design from the beginning). The fact that D has survived largely unchanged since inception and C has undergone more changes tells you something right there, I think.

I really like the "wings". I think that element adds a lot to the design.

I like 'C'; seems a little more sophisticated and appears more stable to me.
I like the larger window surface area; in such a small vehicle, defensive driving gains in importance and the larger side window gives me more confidence.

I don't care for the 'drive unit' in the 'D' rendition; it seems blocky and unstable.

I didn't grab the images, so I'm running on(or out of) memory here.

Man, I hope I fit in one of these; might have to get some elective surgery;)(I'm 6'4").

I am new to this forum, but love the shape and design of both. I do think the larger (at least looking at the pictures it looks larger) window of C. I did see a picture of a D Sport model that had a window that looked much larger than either of these 2. I live in Maine and drive about 25-30k per year. So having something that gets 100mpg would be great. I love my Civic Hybrid (06) but doubling the milages would be wonderful.

D for sure! Looks more like a fighter cockpit.

Gentlemen: I do believe I have a solution. C. should be the pure electric for the city and the people that only want a city vehicle.

D should be the Hybred for those of us who want to Fly The Road away from the city.
C has a little cargo space for shopping.
D has more range for the pleasure of the road.
I'll take 1 of each. and buy a timeshare in florida so i can register them there since ky
politicians are to bacewoods to see the future.

They have already decided to go with concept D! the idea of running both styles was brought up but just not cost effective!
