I've never seen this company/product discussed here. Just might be of interest. I have no idea how realistic this power plant this is, I just bring it up for interest and discussion.

Basically it is a fuel cell that uses ceramic's instead of expensive metals. It can use a variety of fuels (ie propane) to produce electricity. It is currently targeted for electrical production on-site for office buildings (and homes?). But here is the quote that really caught my attention:
"Each Bloom Energy fuel cell is capable of producing about 25W... enough to power a light bulb. For more power, the cells are sandwiched, along with metal interconnect plates into a fuel cell "stack". A few stacks, together about the size of a loaf of bread, is enough to power an average home."

So if a "loaf of bread" sized cell will power a home, how many of these would be needed to power a car? It just struck me as a possible power source for a Hybrid car.

So experts, why would this be, or not be, a good power plant for and electric drive car?
