Hello and welcome to this new forum! I am so very excited about finally getting this up and running, and I hope it meets all of your expectations.
As you know, Venture Vehicles is coming out with the V1 (soon to be renamed), which has caused quite a stir in certain circles across the country. This new vehicle has caused excitement in the hearts and minds of so many people because we simply have not seen anything like it in the past. It is so very FRESH and so NEW!
This project reminds me of the Bell Rocket Belt. You probably know about it. This is the device developed by Bell Labs for the US Army. You may have seen it being flown in a Superbowl half-time show, or more notably in a James Bond film. This device sparked the imagination of the American people back in the 1960's. In 1992 I began the "AIRWALKER SOCIETY" of Rocket-Belt enthusiasts. I wrote a book about the history and construction of the Rocket-belt, and I produced a video. This was all exciting for me, and I enjoyed every moment that I was involved in that project. But it never went beyond that. The Rocket-belt always remained an 'imaginary' device and never became viable for transportational purposes. You were not going to see guys strapping on a rocket-belt and flying off to work every morning!
Ian, and his company Venture Vehicles, is creating something that again is sparking all of our imaginations. And this project IS viable, and we will be experiencing the thrill of this vehicle very shortly. No longer will we have to "dream" about this. This vehicle will indeed be parked in our driveway (hopefully in a garage!).
We began this club to celebrate this incredible vehicle, and to offer a fun place for enthusiasts like you and me. So, let me again welcome you to the club, and becoming part of an exclusive team of Pilots that will 'Fly The Road' very soon!
