Yes, that's beta. We skipped over the alpha stage entirely because everything is falling into place far faster than we anticipated. It looks like we'll be able to better most of the original expectations of 0-60 in 5 seconds, 120 mph top speed, 100 mpg and $20,000 Q100 cost.
The revised schedule has us bringing the new V1 (to be named the "Vector" pending some legal finalizing) to market by end of third quarter 2008.
is this true? it was posted at the flytheroad.com site.
good news
the acceleration has me a little worried about insurance costs. well more than a little worried
enjoy

actually I am not sure that the message on flytheroad was ian.
If it was not ian that I qouted above it gives more proof that people need to not be able to post in official areas on that website and it gives more credence to thsi website existing and that other website just used for official responses.

Yeah rex, I caught that little tidbit, also. I have never seen an 'underlings' when it WAS from Ian.
If it's real, great news! If it's not.....mmmmh

I can assure everybody that the message you quoted was and is absolutely NOT from Ian. Sorry to dampen your excitement!

it was not really excitement but more of a confusion.
i was wondering why you would ever skip the alpha vehicle (proof on concept) but saw no reason why the speed would be that way.
just more proof that venture one needs a webperson on that website.

Yeah, I completely agree with you. I, along with a few others, have been asking Ian to put a person in charge of the official forum for a long time now, but it still has not happened.
I know that a few people have posted "fake updates" on the site as a joke. But as you have experienced personally, this causes a lot of confusion. I guess it's done out of a frustration in the lack of REAL updates.
Anyway, I just hope Ian and the team are making progress on the real VEHICLE!
