View Full Version : Locking Feature
New here to the forum. I have been doing quite a bit of reading trying to catch up on what this machine is about. I am pretty sure someone has asked but I have not seen it yet and that is there any manual locking device to keep the forward tilting section to stay in the strait up position while it is parked? I don't like the idea of someone's kid going around and pushing the car/bike over and see it hit something for kicks. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Russ

Tilting is controled by advanced hydromechanical system. Sure it has park-locking. It also has service tilt mode and in-cabin tilt indicator.
This is advanced vehicle, not something bolted together in a barn. :)

On the video of the Carver, from which the V1 gets it's tilting mechanism, the host of "Top Gear" leans over and manually disengages the lock. The Carver leans over slowly to one side and rests at it's full-tilt position. It's unclear whether the host used a key or just flipped a switch on the back of the Carver, though. I'd prefer it if the V1 required some sort of key to enable the tilt while the vehicle is parked.

Yes, CF, that is the 'maintenance tilt' to allow access to the Power Pod (tilts to both sides for access to left and right halves). I'd be surprised if there weren't some type of 'fail safe' to prevent casual passer-bys from 'tipping' it.
