Have side impact airbags been discussed or considered yet?

Hi all,

New to the club, and to the Venture. Iv'e done some searching here and don't see that this has come up in thread on this site. Haven't had a chance to do an RSS search of the official site yet.

My question is, have side impact airbags been discussed or considered yet? Seems like they would be an excellent safety feature to include, especially since the driver/passenger head will be relatively close to the glass/frame in the event of a side collision or rollover.

Any thoughts?

Absolutely. They are going to be a base item in all models that are made. Actually, there has already been a lot of talk about this, and Ian has posted to this subject often. I don't have the exact statements right now, though. Maybe someone else can post here what has been said about this. I know Ian has stated that side airbags will are in the design.

Thanks. As you know, tons of info and posts to weed through. I've seen the info on the drivers airbags, but hadn't run across anythin yet on SIPS airbags. Good to hear, and just one more feature to make this as safe a ride as possible.

Thanks for the welcome Derwin. I'm suffering form a sever loss in normal productivity since I discovered the Venture a few days ago. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive! I've already turned a few others onto it, and will be getting a club mug and Venture hat as soon as I get the chance.
