Here are a few ideas from another club member...

There have been many who have asked for the 1.5 door but we shall see! remember the latest images are a design direction, it is still a possibility!

The rear passenger windows do not have to 'roll down' to provide some ventilation. They could be 'vent' type (that can also be removable and stowed in pockets in the sides or rear shelf. This would cut down on weight, complexity, and cost.

What did you think about the larger single door and lower window lines?

I actually like the rear door option, but at this rate, I would take it with NO doors!

Like I said in a different thread "at this point the only option I want is the Buy it now option"

Heck, I'd be overjoyed just to see a prototype that "MOVES".

You know Rog I am all for the 1.5 door and the wing window would be fine with me!

Okay, here's an idea that I like. I think that the big open space between the power pod and the very back of the cockpit looks rather un-stylish. I'd like to extend the very back turned-down edge of the cockpit on down further to just above the power pod. Here are two pictures showing what I have in mind. My addition piece is magenta colored.

That small addition to the back sure looks OK to me. I hope you thought of the fact that the cabin must be able to swing over the power pod. That means that there must be some distance between the cabin and the engine pod.

Yep. That's why it clears (by 1/4") as you can see.
It also has to clear the pivoting as a result of leaning. One section or the other has to accomodate that.=y:

Carver solved that pretty well with its back addition (which goes clear down to the bottom of the power pod.) With the addition at least it doesn't look like the V1 is hauling a trailer, as one member put it.

Either way would look good in my garage =y:
I would think the addition would result in increased drag. No way to really tell without wind tunnel tests or software flow tests.

Jack,
Nice work posting those images no:wor:thy1
I have the files in MasterCam, but am so new to it, I haven't been able to capture and post images. Using it mainly to design the Beta RC parts which can then go directly to a CNC machine.

MVRacing,
Can you import AutoCAD .dwg files into MasterCam? I'm trying to show Derwin that he can produce the dies directly using a CNC type machine from Sears. But I'm sure that a CNC type file would be needed, which would be generated from the 3D AutoCAD file. If you can load my designs, that would be perfect.
I have modified my design for the rear add-on piece. It did need some more clearance from the power pod. I will post that soon. I make the jpg images by importing a screen-shot into PhotoShop and then saving as a jpg. Works great.

Here are the new pics, with the addition shortened up a little. There was an interference problem when the cockpit leans over. Hard to tell. Don't know exactly where the pivot point is.

After further thought I tend to wonder if that extension would add drag to the vehicle! also I added my thoughts to your canard wing idea on the canard wing thread!

Jack,
Instead of using a CNC, could one of these 3D print services do the job? Price would maybe be about $75-150, or possibly more depending on size.
