How much hip room and shoulder room? In the driver's seat and the passenger's seat.

Well I don't know the exact dimensions but maybe this will help with giving you an idea!

I'm a stout person, and from all the videos I've seen posted, most everyone who's Driven or rode in the "Carver", look to be of average to slight builds. I measure 27" across the shoulders and 22" across the thighs when seated. I was wondering if I would be able to close the door, while in the driver's seat. The photos posted don't really help, because neither the driver, nor passenger, come close to my dimensions.
I had noticed the large British guy in BBC video, was able to get in the back seat, with legs sticking out the window; but how comfortable was he in the driver's seat? How big was that guy?
Another question I have, is there a weight limit? Can the "tilt" recover with a 500 lbs worth driver and/or passenger/baggage weight? What would the max. recoverable "tilt" weight limit be?
I'm really excited about the "Venture One", and would buy one today, if they were available. I'm 6'1" tall and weigh 270 lbs, wanted to know I would be comfortable driving a "Venture One", or feel like a "sardine"?

Boo........ wel;co;m;e101))
One thing you have to remember, the V1 will be built a lot different than the Carver. As you mentioned, the British guy had to practically stick his legs out the window to fit in the back. This was due to the seating. Ian has mentioned that this will NOT be the case with the V1. Somewhere in this forum I'm sure we have the exact dimensions, but I'm not sure where.
Anyway, welcome to the club!

Well, my search came up empty so I put in a request at the company thread for that information on the FAQ section! We shall see.

Hi Boo & welcome,wel;co;m;e101))
Well, sorry to say, you may have a problem ... I believe Ian is 6'2"(?) so no problem with head room. However, I went into the CAD file I have and did some measurements ... Your thighs should be ok, but your shoulders at 27" may not fit. The CAD files don't have internal drawings, but I assumed a certain wall thickness from the external dimension at shoulder level. u:n:s;ure;5(
You could always drive with the windows down =y:
IMHO, I don't think weight will be a problem with the hydraulic tilting mechanisim.

The shell measures 36" wide from the top at about where your butt would be located. Allow say 4" either side for the interior panels and that would leave you with 28", give or take. Add 2 more inches for your shoulders since you would likely be leaning back somewhat.
At the distance off the ground where your butt would be the shell measures 30" wide. So figure about 22" allowing for interior panels.
You'll make it into the seat okay. And don't even think about the tilt thing. It's just not a problem.
I measured the 3D CAD drawing.

Well I am still waiting for Ian to write me back with something official! who knows how long it will take!

Hey Jack,
I'm a bit confused there. Also, I'm not getting the same measurements out of the IGES files. Ideas?
How about we compre some specific measurements?

It is precisely because of this type of confusion I chose to ask Ian directly for interior dimensions. I want to be as accurate as possible, still no word though!

Probably be QUICKER to buy a production V~1 and take the measurements yourself!du:n:n:o(

MVRacing,
It depends on where you measure and how. The butt location is just eyeballed. You have to cut a section through the model to be somewhat close.

I took my measurements from the location of the body figures in the IGES file.

You got body figures?! If there were body figures in the IGES files, those did not convert into DWG. Nuts!
