Hi,

Been reading the old pages and just found the new site
Started reading and after I posted two questions
I found that the release date has been moved.

How about somewhere on the top of the banner page
an estimated due date of the first vehicle roll out

That might help ppl like me from not knowing when the first
vehicle would be released.

And I was planning several trips next summer using the V!

Thanks
Wolf

Wolf,

Hey, WELCOME to the Club! I know what you mean about the release date. It really gets tiring to wait and wait and wait. But when this finally does come out, it is going to be an incredible ride! By the way, I have been told that the release date will be April of 2009. I don't know if this is "written in stone", but it is what I have been told by the company.

GREAT IDEA! I am going to have a "count-down" clock showing when the release of the vehicle will be. I think this will be a great addition to the site. Thanks.

I suggest figuring on a release date of Sept 2009. That's what I did as soon as I saw the projected April date. You'll be less disappointed :-)

I know what you mean, RAN. The old saying....."Expect nothing, and you will never be dissapointed", may apply a little bit here!

But we do know that they will get this thing on the market at some point. I hope it will be April of 2009, but who knows........it may be April of 2010. Nuts! I just got depressed. :(

That's why I did it in the 1st place lol. And that was before I heard that the original release date was fall 2008. Maybe we *should* figure on April 2010.... (now *I'm* depressed :-)

I really don't think it will take that long. Remember the frame is being done by Swift Engineering. They are very quick. Same with most of the power system. The companies they partnered with know what they are doing.

Not to be a 'wet blanket' but,.......
Swift Engineering may be very 'swift' in designing a chassis and putting together the prototype, but there are unfortunately 'countless' complex and time consuming tasks (developing and testing the software for the drive train, brakes, battery charging, instruments, and 'entertainment/nav' system, and integrating it all; designing the steering 'yoke' and the decision and placement of controls, interior comforts; heating, AC, seats, video displays, windows/sunroof; AND THE LIST GOES ON). Then AFTER all this is completed and finished, they have to buy, build, and staff an assembly facility, and design and publish an owner's manual and perhaps a maintenance manual. Many, many areas for 'future delays' to pop up.

Swift is not doing the power train but I understand what your saying. Still I'd rather look at the glass being half full rather than half empty.

Unfortunately, at this stage the glass is FAR from 'half full':(; in fact, we don't even know what the glass will look like:confused:. Maybe we will see some drawings by next week, then we can start 'filling the glass'.:p

Now I am depressed :(

Maybe I will get one for my retirement in 2012

With everything that needs to be done

No. Let's keep the faith in the people at Venture Vehicles alive. I also get a little depressed when I think about the possible (probable) setbacks that may come, but this IS the only game in town! I don't see any other company in AMERICA that is making a vehicle that is as fun as this looks to be.

I was (and may still be) tempted to purchase one of these directly from Carver in the UK, but it is $45,000. This extra cost is not worth it. I would rather wait 1 year and save the extra $25,000. Although, if VV pushes the release back any more, I will be forced to import a Carver. I really just can't wait too long to get this vehicle!

Derwin, I want to "have faith" in V.V., and their "projection of Apr 2009", but knowing only some of the complicated and time consuming tasks involved in bringing a new hi-tech vehicle to "life" and actual production, I find their goal overly optimistic. That is why I and others have asked to see a proposal of the timeline and milestones to gauge their progress. Back in March or April Ian said it would be posted "shortly" (never came). He also said in May that new designs (4 exterior and 2 interior) were on their way. Still have not seen one yet; maybe next week (after the promised exclusive news article) we will be "enlightened". We can all HOPE, and "keep the faith".

rogwild,

I agree 100% with you. What happened to the podcasts that were also promised? All of these things do add up, and this is definately a cause for worry or doubt.

Man, I really do not want to spend $45,000 on an imported Carver! :(

I'm sticking with Fall 2009 lol... and hoping I'm not disappointed (although I will certainly have the check ready in April:)). In fact, the check's ready NOW.

Things change... corporation strategies force change. And a different group has /will take over some of the functions of pod casts /information.
We were also told the new designs would not be released to us until after the exclusive news paper article.
I believe that with new naming and all the other stuff going on this year for the series 1 deadline... that it will be first quarter next year until a lot of information is more coordinated ... timing is everything and I am sure that the advertising agency has looked at a lot of things to set up their schedule of leveraging everything.

One has to remember that Ian is as enthusiastic as the rest of us ... but now his hands are tied by legal, marketing and other business partners. And there will be delays due to unforeseen things.

Keep the Faith brothers... trust me they are as interested as we are to get this thing done and out the door... But they also want to do it right.

It's a big chess game and we all want VV to win. :D

Yep. Venture Vehicles is the ONLY game in town, and I support them wholeheartedly. I have given my heart to getting the word out about this company and this vehicle, and whatever delays may come are simply a part of business.

We just get a little discouraged now and then when promised updates and other items are not kept. I have no doubt that the reasons behind not providing more information are all GOOD and valid. You are correct, they are just as eager as us in getting this vehicle into the public realm. But we are indeed only human, and we get upset. Even MORE so because we want to see this vehicle on the roads and in OUR driveways.

I think this is ANOTHER reason that starting this new club forum is a GOOD thing for all of us. We can vent our feelings on this site without any fear. This will hopefully keep the company website free of this. Venture Vehicles should be writing me a check for diverting negative feeling this way, instead of on thier site! :D (Just kidding!)

So, yes, KEEP THE FAITH all fellow enthusiasts!

I hope that's 30 seconds after the press get it:D

We all know set backs can happen but has anyone thought that they could break ground and some how get ahead of schedule! I mean as busy as they are hopefully they gain some footing! It would be awesome to see them have V1's on the road by Jan 1 2009!!!! Of course I won't hold my breath!;)
