I haven't seen anyone post about electric bicycles - the healthiest form of commuting!
Here are my two favorites:
http://www.hammacher.com/publish/11191.asp
(I am embarrassed I am citing hammacher - it means this thing is over priced - by at least 2.5k, is my guess - but it is artistic. it reminds me of:
http://www.confederate.com/confederate2/c2-links/machines-wraith.html , which I also like)

and:
optibike (http://www.optibike.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage2&product_id=19&category_id=1&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=100)

again too expensive, but one can hope that well-built versions could fill the low-cost market range just under motorcycles.

Hi dan,

I actually purchased this ebike about a month ago:
eZee Forza (http://nycewheels.com/ezee-forza-electric-bike.html)

It's good for my commute, which is about 5 miles but on fast & hilly roads. I'm using it about 2-3 days each week, and taking my scooter most other days. I can get to work without any serious sweating, and get a bit of exercise on the way home by taking a longer route.

I think the eZee line is priced about right, and the performance is reasonable.
