NOTE!!!!!!!!!! Do not go any further then the link provided! click on anything else and it will inform you that the site is there for official court personnel, access to other areas is strictly prohibited!!!! Violations of usage is prosecutable!!!

So my question is if VV is folding up and closing the doors, why then would they file this suit??? Any thoughts????

I'd bet on them burning through 6millions without producing a running alpha and angel investors walking away or turning their back until there is something moving to see. VV is now pulling every card they found in hope of some income.

Just something for Howard L. to do.
Wonder what the 'basis' for the lawsuit is, since VA has been around a lot longer than Vv, and it seems that they actually have MADE some vehicles? You'd think that if Vv is so 'busy' and 'dedicated' to getting an operational ALPHA (that they can't UPDATE the Forum) that this 'lawsuit' would be an undesirable 'distraction'.

Who said that VV is closing their doors? How did this rumor get started? Are people beginning to think this just because of the lack of updates? C'mon, fella's, let's not get silly.

No, not 'just because';..... but when coupled with IanBruce's YouTube account being 'suspended', AND links to Vv videos getting a "This video has been removed due to terms of use violation."......without any explanation by Ian, people start to wonder.
Derwin, what is your.....explanation for these recent events? ......."its all GOOD, everything moving ahead, update 'shortly'?"

VV closing their doors is only a rumor right now!! there has been no word officially!!! So far all we have to go on is a rumor of Ian jumping ship here in the states and going else where and the fact that his you tube account has been suspended and there has been no word! However, good news is, after hearing all the rumors. I took it upon my self last night to call the VV office just to see if their phones were still operational. Late on a Sunday night I placed the call and got their answering machine. So at least we now they are still in operation.
No... we know their phone is still in operation.

Wait a minute. Ian's youtube account is suspended? I was not aware of that. Where did you find out about "Ian jumping ship here in the states and going else?" Where is this "elsewhere" that he supposedly has gone?
Spreading rumors like this is pretty serious, and if true could definitely destroy any support base (including this club) that Venture Vehicles still has. If Venture Vehicles is no longer a viable company, than we need to know this for sure, and not just spread rumors. I want to know how these rumors got started. Are the rumors credible? Give me some input.

Don't know about 'Closing their Doors'; but they sure have 'Closed their Mouths'; and their REASON of 'Competitive Environment' is a 'red herring' since it has ALWAYS BEEN THERE, and their meager 'updates' have not revealed any valuable 'trade secrets'. Coupled with the FACT that they have continually FAILED to meet their own imposed 'milestones' (especially in reference to the 'prototype'), and that their 'Series A' funding only carried them through 'successful' prototype development, it is little wonder that 'RUMORS of their imminent Demise" are beginning to surface. Without some assurance from Vv or Ian Bruce, himself (carrying less credibility all the time) these rumors will continue to emerge and grow. Perhaps another New York Times story (from their 'High Power' PR firm) would clear the air, but they would have to have something POSITIVE for the NYT to do another story.........well we are still waiting.
Derwin AZE posted about the You Tube account cancellation in the thread "Is there any news at all?????.
How can VV afford a stupid lawsuit at a time like this? As Rog said, Venturi has been around longer, so how could they be infringing on Venture? It sounds like BS legal maneuvering, something I hate. Besides, I thought VV was looking to change their name.
There are too many inconsistencies floating around VV right now to continue to take this company seriously. And still no prototype.

Well, I just posted this new thread over at the company forum. I sure hope Ian has the sense enough to respond to it. As you all know, I have really devoted a lot of time, energy, and money into getting the word out about Venture Vehicles. It would be a shame if they were just another "wanna-be" company that never came out with an actual vehicle. Here's hoping to a fast response by Ian.
By the way, here is a link to the new thread:

If you get a response at all, it's going to be the same fluff we're used to getting. If Ian had anything to say, he would have said it by now.
My BS meter has been pegged so long It's going to need recalibration after this is all over.

I just send an email to Ian exlaining our concerns. I sent it to the 2 email addresses that I have been using to communicate with him in the past. Hopefully he will reply with some positive information.

Hey, if a lawsuit keeps the lawyers busy and gives Ian a chance sneak out a post, I’m for it!

Keep your chins up, guys. Lawsuits and drama are the norm for technology start-ups. I'm not saying Venture will survive, but I've got no real indication that they won't either.
Here's where I'm at -
We know that Venture has filed a trademark infringement suit (http://dockets.justia.com/search?query=Venture+Vehicles%2C+Inc.&search=Search&stateorcourt=court-cacdce&lawsuittype=&documentfilter=allcases&cases=mostrecent&min-day=1&min-month=1&min-year=2004&max-day=31&max-month=7&max-year=2008) against Venturi Automobiles (http://www.venturi.fr/-Home-page-.html).
We know that Venture has been looking to change their name (http://flytheroad.com/blog/forums/topic.php?id=756&replies=481).
We know that Ian Bruce's account has been suspended (http://www.youtube.com/index?&session=VmGqc6gxSctHT4-pgy7h7Zht1NGWu8km6lBQ44HQ96bQM1aY0jFbp1NpKYk5uqM_P JhWITGcWFwW5qowdpL4N9tpNOwrujzNSUpS4XUmwHLeDtp1EE-N3gp2wwX2woLqOKFv00CFc5mx6eGaOeXOHkgU_0Ta12wwTTjl5 f2DzxYFPk2fUs9cqMXRySqmZdY8UiZeCJ0gk_zfzpt-wADHbPAYXMqVVpktpgqDgpJYs0db07sAa7Yu9MeBrbyoHSz50W _vJRAE9FwL6L23XvakCw==) at YouTube.
It is possible that Venturi started a fight with Venture and when Venture didn't change their name fast enough, it got ugly. The YouTube suspension could be the result of Venturi sending take-down notices. And the lawsuit could be a preemptive strike to get Venturi to stop harassing them and settle out of court with a name change. Understandably, Ian has probably been told to shut-the-hell-up until the smoke clears.
I'm no lawyer, I'm just guessing. And I'm not assuming Venture Vehicles will survive - lots of great ideas die for completely non-technical reasons. But I'm not entirely ready to throw in the towel yet.

As usual, Mark, you make a lot of sense. Your theory does fit the facts as we know them.

You could play a lawyer on TV.... :-{)]
