Irell & Manella is expanding its emerging technologies strategy with the addition to two new practice group co-chairs, Matthew Sant and Gregory Klein. The goal is to advise companies on the best way to go about developing disruptive technologies.This according to an article posted in Green Technology (http://green.tmcnet.com/topics/green/articles/36438-irell-manella-seeks-drive-growth-disruptive-green-technologies.htm) {more info in link}

HELLO! I didn't see that coming. That puts a whole new spin on why flytheroad.com suddenly got quiet. The article is dated 8/8/2008, I wonder when Irell & Manella got involved? It is entirely possible that they are taking a company that was spinning out of control (as most start-ups do) and adding some order to the chaos. I wouldn't be surprised to see management shake-ups, er... I mean "restructuring".
I am encouraged by two things in particular. One, the categorization as disruptive technology. Innovative, yes. But niche market players are not "disruptive". This means Irell & Manella see Venture Vehicles as a game-changer.
Second, the press release calls out Venture Vehicles by name. I'm sure they work with plenty of other companies besides the two that got mentioned. This demonstrates either faith in Venture by Irell & Manella, or a level of positive recognition by the reporter. Or both.
Overall, this could be a very good thing.

STOP IT! Enough with the hints, already. I know you're itching to tell us stuff you're not supposed to tell us. But maybe you'd be better off just forgetting the conversation with Ian all together.
(I refuse to use smilies, so please pretend I'm grinning as I write).

Let's not go too far down this road. "Game changer" were my words, reading between the lines.
