News on VV has been so slow... (stopped?)... and I was thinking about a former co-worker who has all but given up on driving. He rides one of these...

Anyone here like to design one that tilts?
Riding a bicycle on city streets is just not prudent IMO for two good reasons:
1, you're exercising, and breathing in nothing but exhaust fumes while doing it
2, You're at the bottom of the food chain on the streets with no protection. I know from riding motorcycles that too many drivers just don't pay attention to anything smaller than they are. At least a motorcycle has the power to keep up with traffic and to get out of it's own way.
If you live close enough to work and can take side streets most of the way... maybe.

nvrblu (http://www.flytheroadclub.com/forums/member.php?u=247), make sure you mount no less than two bicycle post flags to it so you can be seen. They normally are no higher than a car hood which makes them rather hard to see and a lot of bicyclists do not know how to ride a straight line.

All you had to do was ASK!

Someone did have a tilting one - I forget who, it is buried somewhere in flytheroad.
My personal preference is - 2 wheels, standard. You have better visibility (non-recumbant), lighter (better acceleration, using the same argument as 2) from RAN), and others (all of these are subjective).
As for 1) from RAN - fume ridden streets are bad for pretty much everyone, not just bicycles. And "suburb" streets are clean air enough (measured by car count in that particular area). Even car's recirc/AC (does anyone drive around in that permanent mode/combo?) cannot reject all external unwanted gases - anyone who has driven through a cow farm.... holy cow!
Or anyone who has used the Underground, or NYC subway, and wiped their nose after one ride - it's quite impressive what you find.
Bicycles are in fact up there on the "dangerous" list, but really not that far off motorcycles. And if you look at P(accident|you) ... danger is almost entirely a function of the driver, not the mobile. Bicycles are dangerous. So is driving a car. You adjust your route to match your level of competence, and capability...
