Our new communication person has appeared:

Hello, my name is Scot Keller. As promised in Steve Parry’s last post, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I recently joined the Venture Vehicles Team to support their communications activities including the management of this site.

My career spans 25+ years with broad-based experience in automotive marketing, communications, motor sports, heritage and brand management. I have held a number of marketing & communications positions working with companies that include Callaway Engineering, Fiat/Alfa Romeo, Audi, Chrysler and General Motors. Most recently I was directly involved in the creation and launch of GM’s Centennial activities including the GMnext digital experience.

In Steve’s initial post he promised “we would regularly communicate the milestones on the way to eventual production and sales.” My job is to help get that done.

I look forward to joining the dialog!

Sorry, couldn't resist the political campaign reference. Why? Scot Keller, Venture's new "Communications Spokesman" has arrived!

“Lastly, I’m happy to tell you that we have engaged a new Communications team that has been given the assignment to manage this site……………… Look for our Communications spokesman, Scot Keller, to introduce himself on this forum in the next couple of days”

SMK? Scot with one 't'? I think this is our guy!

http://www.linkedin.com/pub/4/B07/A59

Looks like Venture hired themselves a communications company specializing in the automotive industry. Oddly, SK2 Communications LLC doesn't seem to have a web site of their own. Well, the cobblers kids never have shoes, as they say. Either that or SK2 didn't work out and he jumped to Venture without updating his LinkedIn profile.

Either way, it's neat to see a communications guy with Internet experience in the automotive industry. Regardless of his level of involvement at GM, he's a great find. Hats off to Venture (or NGEN) on this one.

Well, I just got off the phone with Scot, and he seems to be a wonderful fellow.

We talked about how Venture Vehicles has brought him on to take over the "public relations" aspect of things, and to give us updates when they are ready to be made. We also briefly discussed how the past mistakes of making unfulfilled promises will NOT be made again.

I personally think that Scot will create a more friendly environment for us enthusiasts, as well as a new era of oversight over at the company forum that we have all desired.

Bottom line, it was a great conversation.

Greetings, scot keller here. Today I joined the FTL Club as a first step toward participating on this board as well as the company site.

I had a great conversation with Derwin this afternoon where I committed to help him keep the club up to speed as the project moves forward.

Thanks for making me feel welcome.

Cheers scot

Welcome Aboard Scot..... now one of the Admins needs to give you access to the "Venture Vehicle Forum" (http://www.flytheroadclub.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=36) for VV official people on the Club site.

Great idea, AZE! I think I'll go ahead and do that, as well as move Scots post over to that forum. Hey, this will be the FIRST time anyone posted to that forum in the past year! 2thumb:up

Hey Scot, we have been awaiting your arrival since Aug '07. Great to have some 'Official' participation here!wel;co;m;e101))
We don't need 'detailed' or 'technical' information (although some of that stuff would be interesting for some). Just the general (even without specific 'Partner's' or vendor's names) information that shows that Venture Vehicles (Vv) is making progress toward our Dream of:
dr:ive1)'Flying the Road":burning:rubber:

Get your 'feet on the ground'; then prepare to 'Blast Off'; we've got an exciting and challenging road ahead.:whoohoo:

Of course Scot can interact on any of the forums but it would be great if new info was posted to the "Venture Vehicle Forum" on the club site.... then if the admins would look at making it a RSS feed it would be a quick way to alert people of new infov:i:c:t;o;ry1)

Great idea, AZE.

VBulletin is a little goofy about RSS feeds; the base templates don't include a friendly link. I figured it out and provided one at work, and I'm sure I can do the same here. Or, we can just reverse engineer it and post it as a sticky. Meanwhile, people shouldn't be shy about subscribing to a forum so that updates get e-mailed to them. Just be aware that vBulletin isn't really good about un-subscribing you if you decide you don't want updates anymore.
