A first look at some explorations we're kicking around for dedicated dealerships. Again, you're the first people outside of our company to see these:

Looks like a manageable footprint. Not too big for commercial real estate.

You will need extra spaces for the sales staff to do paper work in a quiet room so as not to bother others in the sales proccess maybe add some more service bays, no matter how well made a vehical is made there will always need to be service done and 2 bays will not cut it. But other thern that it looks cool.

1 BIG thing that needs to be added..... you need a fricken track out back of the building. Or better yet have the track follow the outside of the building with a bridge over the main entrance. Having the track setup like that would give you a Rolling billboard on ALL sides of the building. With a track people can play with the tilt system and not be in traffic. Also from a Salesmans point of view it would be nice the have the customers in a controlled enviroment. Most people when they come to test drive new cars are freaked out bad enuff as it is.

P.S. Sorry about the crazy rantings of a car salesman;)

The idea of wrapping the building with a track is excellent.

I like it too. It makes perfect sense for this vehicle to be able to test drive it on the premises for all concerned.

How can they expect to park cars on the roof? Zoning does not allow for this, especially here in LA where they would set this up. And yes, I am in the commercial real estate business in West LA.

Also keep in mind that one of Ian's goals was to do V1 sales similar to Saturn and then do them one better by having a Web site where you can do the initial selection and customization of the vehicle ( I would also guess this means qualification etc as well). Then it gets put together at the Dealership that you have selected and you get called when it is put together to your spec. I would imagine you do as much paperwork as possible through the web or a kiosk.
Speculation on my part from things that Ian had commented on.

Where did parking the cars on the roof come in? but now that you bring it up it's not a bad idea! :) cheeper then having alot of billboards... but on one of the new Billboards with the LCD screen would be nice to run a video of the product on. I bet that would get alot of attention.

I think 'smoove' mistook some of the customer cars parked 'outside the building' (in the drawings above) as appearing to be ON the roof.

^^You are right...my bad. I saw it and mistook the lines as showing the thickness of the roof, since it is a 3d drawing. Whoopsy.
