CELEBRATE OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY!

Well, an entire year has already passed since we launched this club for Venture Vehicles Enthusiasts. Can you even believe it? It really seems like yesterday, but its been an entire year!

I think that we can all agree that we were hoping to SEE more progress with the V1 project. Actually, I think it's safe to say that most of us were expecting to see video of the alpha by now. But I think it's always good to remember that we really do not know ALL of what is going on behind the scenes.

Case in point.... During my telephone conversation with Steve, he told me that they are simply not going public with a lot of what is happening. He gave various reasons for this, but the bottom line is that he assured me that the project is on course. He also said that they are creating a vehicle that can be released AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, and at a reasonable price that most can afford. I think we can all be happy about that!

As we go into our SECOND year of operation, I think it would be a good idea to revive some old club projects, and even come up with some new ones. We had the cardboard V1 project that some were working on, and we even had the remote-control V1 that seems to have been spinning it's wheels over the past couple months! Maybe we can light a fire under these projects, and get them going again.

CLUB CONTEST!-----CLUB CONTEST!

A NEW CLUB CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT... If you have an idea for a new club project, please submit it to this thread. It could be ANYTHING you can think of relating to the V1. We will set a date for all proposed projects to be submitted by, and then the members will choose which we should make "official" club projects.

The WINNERS of this contest will win a FREE club coffee mug. There can be MULTIPLE winners in this contest. But only 1 entry per member is allowed.

So, be creative! Think of something that we can do while waiting for the V1 to be released. Make it good. Make it exciting. Make it unique. And be sure to give DETAILS of your idea!

Thanks again to all of you who have contributed over this past year, and have made this club a resounding success. Always remember that this club is here for YOU to enjoy. Can you imagine the fun we will be having when this vehicle is finally released, and we actually have one parked in our driveway? As a club I know we will be putting together local chapters, and organizing club meets, and other club events where we will finally be able to meet each other "in the flesh", instead of simply through these forums! It is going to be incredible.

Well, here's to another successful year! che:ers:1 (make mine a root beer!)

Happy One Year Anniversary!

Derwin, thanks to you for having started this club. After having found out about Venture Vehicles and the VentureOne, and gotten rather excited about the whole thing, I'd just like to say that I have enjoyed being envolved here. It was just what I needed. dr:ive1)

I agree that having club projects or contests is a great way to creatively spend our time while we all wait for our dream vehicle to unfold. There are lots of people out there with talents to show off and fun to share with others.

I haven't seen Celticflyer in quite a while :(, but I sure was enjoying some of the stuff he was doing with colored versions of the V1. I think that would be a fun contest. Based upon the information we've gotten thusfar from VV, on separately selectable ABS plastic body panels, each of which could be in a different "standard" color choice, It would be pretty entertaining to see how people might piece together various colored panels to create interesting designs.

As I remember, the separate plastic body panels are to be produced with impregnated color that is the same all the way through. That would be great since scratches would not show up near as bad. And painting those panels would be quite expensive, because the professional preparation of the ABS material to accept any paint is pretty intensive.

One could get really creative with stick-on decals though. Anyone can create whatever designs they could imagine on their computer and get a signmaker to print it out on peel-off / stick-on material for not that much money.

Let's start that up again as a contest. no:p:i:c1

What ever happened to the RC V1??? I never heard anything more from it! I wonder how hard it would be to develop a powerwheels version for kids?

MM89, the remote control project is on hold right now. MVR was putting the alpha together, but then they ran into some problems. I expect we will be getting that project back up and running again very soon.

Hey, what would it take to get some ball caps made of the club logo like the one CelticFlyer made for us? Just the shield or even just the V1 and the wording Fly The Road Club!
